I know this post is a day late, and a dollar short – seeing how the 4th of July was… yesterday. However, I did still feel it important to write a patriotic post about my love for our country & how we chose to celebrate it.
The day started out wonderfully, with an awesome breakfast with the hubby. Followed by watching the parade march through downtown. It was so nice seeing all the veterans walking with such pride down main street.
My uterus could not take all of the adorable children, dressed in red, white & blue, waving their little flags! Laughing, and their faces filled with pure joy. Makes me even more excited for whenever we do decide to have children, to be able to take them to events such as this. Kids make everything better… well except stretch marks, they makes those worse.
After watching the parade, we took Addie girl for a stroll around the neighborhood, before we got rained out. To kick-off the evening, I cracked open a bottle of wine and played corn hole with family. My little brother even drove up to spend the evening with us, which was a nice addition to the night. Later on we walked down to the waterfront, sat with our husbands (me & two other friends), joined by my brother, and watched the fireworks to end a wonderful Independence Day.
I hope all of you had a wonderful day as well. Filled with family, love, and beer… uh I mean, laughs…

PS- No idea who, or where this picture was taken… found it on a free picture site, and it spoke to me.
Haha…I love the part about the stretch marks! It’s pretty true. Lol.

Sounds like great fun! I spent my Fourth doing work until my housemate came home and then we lit up fireworks in our parking lot. Sounds a bit less classy than yours lol…

Hahaha, I’ve had some “not so low-key” 4th’s before too… but since this one landed on a weekday, we decided not to go balls to the wall this year :p

I am Canadian and we just had our Big 150 on the 1st so I know what you are talking about. I was too tired to stay up and watch the fireworks though. We had a very busy day too as we had company from overseas so we had to entertain them as well.

I actually celebrated on weekend and was able to take the day to relax and get some chores done. It was pretty nice until the rain and fireworks started.

That was a smart choice, we should have done that too! Hahaha.

beautiful pic! I spent my 4th of July at home watching fireworks in the distance from my backyard. I have 4 large dogs that get anxious so I don’t like leaving them home on nights like this
