Here are four books that I have read, and some I’ve even re-read. These authors are all female, hilarious, and BOSSES! Something I feel so strongly about is female power, so I try to make a conscious effort to read female author books, yanno – Girl Power!

1.) Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? – Mindy Kaling:

This woman is everything. Her quick wit and sassy personality is so contagious! I first saw Mindy Kaling on The Office, as her character – Kelly Kapoor.

*Side note: if you’ve never watched The Office, do yourself a favor and go watch it!!*

I was immediately drawn to her personality, and wanted more. She also has her own television show, The Mindy Project, and after watching that show I knew, I had to buy her books. If you’re ready for a good laugh, and a book you won’t want to put down, this… this is it!

2.) Why Not Me? – Mindy Kaling:

Yes – another Mindy Kaling book… I can’t help it guys, she’s awesome. This book talks more about her life in the present. The “behind the scenes” of living life in Hollywood. All the glitz, glam, and dirty little tricks.

I’m sure there are a lot of books just like this, celebrities outing Hollywood, and the secrets behind the trade. But, she’s just so funny… and I always read it in her voice (in my head), which just makes it 10x better.

why not me

3.) #GIRLBOSS – Sophia Amoruso:

This book gave me hope for my little blog. Sophia was homeless, digging in trashcans, and then became the CEO of her own company. If you’ve ever bought anything from Nasty Gal, you’ll appreciate this book even more. Must read for young entrepreneurs.

4.) White Girl Problems – Babe Walker:

This isn’t a female empowerment book, BUT it is RIDICULOUSLY hilarious! I cannot even count how many times I literally laughed out load while reading this book. It’s a book about an LA socialite, who’s “life problems” make you want to punch her, but also love and want to be her best friend at the same time.

Leave me a comment if you pick any of these books up! Let me know if you love them as much as I do!
