This New Year has me feelin’ some type of way. Let’s set some goals, shall we?

Even though it is super cliche to set goals for the new year, its one of my favorite things to do. There really is this refreshing feeling that comes with the new year. Like you get to hit the reset button, and start over, and conquer the new year. Maybe I’m just excited about 2018, because 2017 was less than stellar. Even though I hit a lot of big mile stones in 2017, like graduating college, getting my first “real” job, and getting to marry my best friend. I’ve also never felt anxiety like I had in 2017. I had two panic attacks, and just went through a lot of personal matters. SO BRING IT ON 2018! I’M READY!!

They say that if you write your goals down, you’re more likely to accomplish them, so let’s all write our goals down, and make 2018 our bitch.

1.) Get back in shape – throughout the ups and downs of 2017, I really turned to food/ drinks to comfort me. And because of that, I gained more weight than I ever have in my entire life. Even though I don’t consider myself “fat”, I also don’t consider myself healthy, or in shape. So in 2018 I want to change that.

2.) Travel more – while I was in college I never really had the opportunity to travel much. School really keeps you buys with classes, homework, and projects. Now that I’m graduated I’d really like to take my new found free time, and see this beautiful country I live in!

3.) Be more independent – something that I’ve struggled with, honestly my whole life, is being independent. I grew up with seven brothers and sisters, which basically means I was never alone… ever. Then I met my husband when I was 16, and we’ve been together ever since. We do just about everything together. My dependency on him, my friends, and family has gotten to the point where I won’t do something if it means that I have to go by myself. That needs to stop. This year I’ve made it a goal to do things on my own. We’re about two weeks into the new year, and I’ve already started doing this, and it feels great! It’s crazy how less distracted I am at the grocery store when I’m by myself.

I’m going to stick to three goals, because I feel like if I go any higher than that, they’ll start becoming unattainable. I’m so ready to take on this new year, with my goals and see where 2018 takes me! I’d love to hear below what your goals are for the new year!
